jigdo-easy is an advanced yet light-weight full-screen text-mode download tool for Debian CD images (or anything else offered in "Jigsaw Download" format). It works similar to download tools like Gozilla and GetRight, but has the advantage that you can use over 200 servers to download the bulk of the images from. Actually, the images are never downloaded themselves, only their contents -- and the images are re-assembled on your own computer, automatically!

You don't need to know more. Just try it.

Note that jigdo-easy works equally well with the included jigdo-port as with the "official" jigdo-file, but the latter only compiles on quite recent Linux systems. If you have jigdo-file in the $PATH, there's no need to compile jigdo-port.

Other notes:

• If FTP mirrors don't work: use some HTTP mirror.
• If you need to use a HTTP proxy: edit RUNME.BAT and add this as new second line:
      set HTTP_PROXY=http://proxy.server:8001/
  Change this to reflect your proxy's name and port number. If your proxy server requires a username and password, use http://username:password@proxy.server:8001/
